I’d like to propose two related enhancements to the ChatGPT web interface:
- Dedicated Navigation Buttons:
Adding “Jump to Top” (and optionally “Jump to Bottom”) buttons would allow users to quickly navigate through long conversations. This is particularly useful when messages or code blocks are lengthy, as manual scrolling can be time-consuming.
- Reposition the Edit Message Button:
A suitable solution to improve navigation would be to move the edit message button to the bottom of each message—right alongside the existing actions such as “Copy,” “Good response,” “Bad response,” etc. This would allow users to select the entire message using Ctrl + A and then use the left arrow to quickly move to the top of the message without having to scroll manually.
These adjustments would streamline the workflow, especially for users who work with large texts or code, by making the interface more intuitive and reducing the need for excessive scrolling.
Thank you for considering this request. I believe these changes would significantly enhance the usability of the ChatGPT interface.
