Hi OpenAI team,
Feature request: ChatGPT and Codex usage should have optional, gamified token-usage analytics and leaderboards.
Right now, power users have no satisfying way to see where they rank in terms of ChatGPT/Codex usage. It would be genuinely compelling to show stats like:

Monthly token usage
-
All-time token usage
-
Current percentile among users
-
Streaks or milestones
-
Optional global, regional, and plan-based leaderboards
-
Separate ChatGPT, Codex, and combined OpenAI usage rankings
This should obviously be opt-in, privacy-safe, and anonymized by default. But for power users, builders, developers, creators, and AI-native operators, this would be addictive in the best way.
People already flex GitHub commits, Duolingo streaks, chess ratings, and coding stats. OpenAI has the opportunity to make serious AI usage feel measurable, competitive, and culturally visible.
The power-user segment would go nuts for this.
A simple version could be:
“Your OpenAI usage this month: 18.4M tokens. You are in the top 0.7% of ChatGPT/Codex users globally.”
That one stat alone would get shared everywhere.
If you run with this and create an entire gamified ego-fuelled viral engagement loop… please do compensate me with a year of the ChatGPT Pro 20x Plan

Hey @Bo_Miller, really interesting idea. The “AI usage identity” angle is something a lot of power users would probably resonate with, especially the percentile + streak + milestone pieces.
The opt-in and anonymized approach you mentioned also makes sense and keeps it from feeling invasive.
I’m forwarding this to the team for logging since the gamified analytics/leaderboard concept for ChatGPT + Codex usage is genuinely thoughtful and well laid out. The “top X% globally” stat especially feels like the kind of thing people would actually share publicly.
And the Pro 20x Plan request was a nice touch 😄

I spend at least 12 hours per day on 5.5 Extra High Codex - I’ve gotta be somewhere in the top 100,000*

Spending 12 hours a day on 5.5 Extra High Codex definitely puts you in “okay this person might actually live here now” territory. You’re probably not wrong about cracking the top ranks if a leaderboard ever becomes real.
And honestly, a public “most committed builders” board would be pretty fun to see. A lot of folks in the community would probably discover they’re accidentally competing already.
