- Use cases beyond dating. It could surface potential co‑founders, study partners, language‑exchange buddies, or mentors—then gracefully escalate to a dedicated social‑network / dating mini‑app where users can chat directly.
- Privacy & safety. Everything would be strictly opt‑in, anonymized, and reversible, with transparent controls over what signals are shared. No raw chat logs ever leave the private account; only abstract embeddings are compared.
- Monetization & growth. A social layer could drive engagement and open a path for a standalone “ChatGPT Connections” product that merges AI coaching with relationship discovery.
Given the surge of AI‑assisted matchmaking on mainstream dating apps, I believe OpenAI is perfectly positioned to offer a trustworthy, privacy‑first alternative built on its conversational strengths.
