Feature Request: Chat Cloning / Checkpoint Forking
As a developer, I often work on long ChatGPT sessions (sometimes over 10 hours). I reach a point where I want to split the conversation into two paths — keeping the full context/history up to that point, but working on separate ideas.
Right now, I manually ask GPT to summarize the session and copy that into a new chat — but this loses important context and feels unnatural.
Request:
- Add a feature like “/clone-from-here” or “Checkpoint fork”
- The new chat should keep all past memory/context
- Useful for developers, researchers, and creators who manage complex tasks
This would be a game-changer for productivity!
