When using Codex for software development in ChatGPT, I frequently inspect every tool call and command output to catch errors, failed tests, warnings, or unexpected behavior.
Currently, activity blocks such as Shell, Read, Search, and other tool calls are collapsed by default, so I have to manually expand them one by one on both desktop and mobile.
I would like an option such as:
Settings → Codex / Developer → Always expand activity logs
Ideally it could include:
-
Expand all tool calls by default
-
A single “Expand all / Collapse all” control
-
Persist the preference across desktop and mobile
-
Keep command output visible while Codex is working
This would be particularly useful for developers who actively supervise Codex execution rather than only reviewing the final result.
