I use ChatGPT on the web for research and the desktop app for focused, practical work. I would like to keep these two workflows completely separate.
Currently, conversations created in either client are synchronized and appear in both the web version and the desktop app. This mixes my research conversations with my work conversations and makes it difficult to maintain separate contexts.
Please add an option to disable conversation synchronization between the web version and the desktop app.
When this option is enabled:
- Conversations created on the web should remain on the web and should not appear in the desktop app.
- Conversations created in the desktop app should remain in the desktop app and should not appear on the web.
- Each client should maintain its own independent conversation history.
The existing synchronized behavior can remain the default for users who prefer it, while users with separate workflows can enable independent conversation histories.
