Feature Idea: An Opt-In AI Matchmaker for ChatGPT

What if ChatGPT could help you find a life partner—not by asking you to fill out another questionnaire, but by using the understanding it has developed about you through your conversations?

I’d like to suggest an optional AI Matchmaker feature within ChatGPT.

With explicit consent, ChatGPT could use relevant information it has learned through a user’s conversations—personality patterns, values, emotional needs, communication style, ambitions, interests, relationship experiences and preferences—to develop a richer, dynamic understanding of the person.

Users who also voluntarily opt into matchmaking could form a large matchmaking pool. ChatGPT could then identify people it thinks may genuinely be worth introducing to one another.

It could simply say:

“I found someone I think you might genuinely enjoy meeting. Would you like to know more?”

Both people would decide whether they want to talk. The AI would facilitate the introduction, not decide the outcome.

The feature would be completely optional and consent-based, and would sit alongside the existing ChatGPT experience rather than changing what ChatGPT is.

The important idea is that compatibility shouldn’t be treated as a fixed score. People change, preferences evolve, and sometimes the person we think we want isn’t necessarily the person who complements us best.

The goal isn’t to predict love.

It’s to improve the chances of a meaningful introduction.
