As a complementary architectural consideration to the previously proposed Lucidity Base framework, I would like to outline a potential extension that operates prior to output delivery—at the request transmission stage.
In the original formulation, the Lucidity Base was introduced as a post-generation, pre-delivery protocol layer responsible for classifying model outputs according to their epistemic origin (e.g., reference-based, inferential, personalized, or uncertain) before user exposure.
The present extension proposes an upstream counterpart to this mechanism.
Under this model, user requests are first received by the Lucidity Base interface layer, where they are analyzed in order to determine the epistemic conditions required for the requested output. These conditions may include requirements such as:
verifiable reference support
explicit inference disclosure
uncertainty representation
or contextual personalization acknowledgment
Rather than transmitting the natural language request alone, the system reformulates it as a conditionalized generation contract, appending the required epistemic tags that must accompany any candidate output produced by the model.
For the purposes of this protocol, the set of required epistemic tags accompanying a candidate output may be referred to as an output visa, indicating the conditions under which the generated response is authorized for interface-level delivery.
The LLM is thus tasked not merely with generating a fluent response, but with generating an export-eligible artifact—one that satisfies the declared epistemic conditions associated with the originating request.
All generated outputs are then returned to the Lucidity Base layer as candidate deliverables, accompanied by an epistemic “passport” specifying their claimed reference status, inferential scope, or uncertainty bounds.
At this stage, the Lucidity Base performs an inbound inspection, verifying:
whether required epistemic tags have been satisfied
whether inference is presented distinctly from reference
whether uncertainty has been appropriately disclosed
and whether claimed references are verifiable
Only outputs that successfully meet the declared export conditions are authorized for user-facing delivery.
Delivered responses may therefore include inspection metadata indicating epistemic classification and verification status, accompanied by an inspection stamp confirming successful inbound verification, ensuring that internally generated inference is not presented across the interface boundary as externally validated knowledge.
In this framing, internally generated inference is not prevented at the point of generation, but is instead restricted from crossing the presentation boundary under misrepresented epistemic status.
This proposal does not seek to modify generation behavior itself, but rather to formalize a bidirectional interface protocol governing what forms of output are permitted to cross from model space into user-facing delivery contexts.
