I would like to suggest a new feature for audio call chats with Chatgpt. Please make the AI capable of speaking Portuguese as it is spoken in Portugal itself.
At the moment the AI only speaks Portuguese with Brazilian Portuguese pronunciation and intonation. This isn’t very helpful for people like me who are trying to learn European Portuguese, which sounds a lot different to Brazilian Portuguese.
AI has the potential to be a powerful tool for language learning, but to reach its full potential in this respect it needs to be able to cater for people who want to learn different regional varieties of any given language.
I am currently learning European Portuguese because my ancestry leads back to Portugal, not to Brazil. I am sure that there are others in a similar situation, either with Portuguese or with other languages, whose learning needs are not yet being accomodated by Chatgpt, so there is demand for more language options.
This is a way you could massively improve your AI. Audio conversations with an AI that’s available 24/7 and that never judges you or loses its patience because you keep making mistakes or struggling to find the right words would make becoming proficient in a new language much easier and faster.
Please keep developing Chatgpt’s language capabilities and expanding them to include more specific regional variations, dialects and accents. Your AI’s abilities are already impressive, but they could be better and you have the opportunity to lead the charge in the area of language aquisition.
