I would like to propose a new feature for ChatGPT that could be highly beneficial in emergency situations. The idea is to allow ChatGPT to contact emergency services (such as 911, police, or medical help) when a user is unable to speak or make a call themselves.
Use Case & Importance:
In critical situations where speaking may put someone at risk (e.g., home intrusions, medical emergencies, or hostage situations), users could simply type out their emergency details in ChatGPT. The AI could then forward the information to the appropriate emergency services, ensuring a quick response.
Potential Implementation:
- A dedicated emergency command like “/emergency” to trigger the feature.
- AI prompts users to confirm details before placing the request.
- Secure integration with official emergency response systems.
This feature could make AI a life-saving tool in high-risk situations, enhancing both user safety and practical utility. I hope OpenAI considers implementing this in future versions.
