Elevated error rates for APIs, ChatGPT and Sora - June 10th, 2025

Unbelievable! We are paying for that!

 guessing reading is too difficult… but Ill try anyway:

You’re encountering the error message:

“Too many concurrent requests”

This typically means:

  • Your browser is sending multiple requests to the ChatGPT servers too quickly, or
  • There’s a temporary overload or traffic spike on OpenAI’s end.

:white_check_mark: Quick Fixes

  1. Click “Retry”
  • Often the error is momentary and resolves with a single retry.
  1. Refresh the Page
  • Press Ctrl + R (Windows) or Cmd + R (Mac) to reload the page.
  1. Close Extra ChatGPT Tabs
  • Make sure only one ChatGPT session is open in your browser. Multiple active sessions can trigger the error.
  1. Log Out and Log Back In
  • This helps reset any stuck or duplicated sessions.
  1. Clear Your Browser Cache
  • Cached data can sometimes cause issues with how requests are handled. Try clearing the cache or using a clean session.
  1. Use Incognito/Private Mode
  • This disables extensions and uses a fresh session, which helps identify if something in your main browser session is interfering.
  1. Disable Browser Extensions
  • Especially ad blockers, privacy tools, or anything that injects JavaScript—they can sometimes interfere with ChatGPT’s request handling.
  1. Try a Different Browser or Device
  • Helps rule out device- or browser-specific issues.
  1. Switch Networks (Optional)
  • If you’re on a school, work, or public Wi-Fi, the network may be throttling or limiting outbound traffic. Try a different network like a mobile hotspot.

:yellow_circle: If It Still Doesn’t Work:

The issue may be on OpenAI’s server side (especially during peak usage hours).

  • Check the OpenAI Status Page for any outages or performance issues.
  • Wait a few minutes and try again — heavy traffic can trigger temporary rate limits even for normal use.

:envelope_with_arrow: Want Help Debugging Further?

If the issue persists, feel free to share:

  • What browser you’re using (e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox)
  • Whether extensions are enabled
  • If you’re on a personal or shared (e.g. school/work) network

I can walk you through tailored steps based on that info.

Glad I’m not alone. :slightly_smiling_face:
Just let us know when it’s fixed.

OpenAI Status Page

ChatGPT is down today, even though I have a paid subscription. Since I still need access, I had to use OpenWebUI and the API, which costs extra tokens. How can I request compensation for the additional tokens I had to buy due to the outage?

I’m payin’ for ChatGPT too and it havin’ hiccups since today is pretty annoying.

But just ‘cause I’m a payin’ customer like most people here doesn’t mean a service has gotta be nonstop available. Especially when it comes to tech, it’s just not possible to have 100% uptime.

Yes same problem for me at this hour now

Still not working! The whole day ChatGPT barely works. There is no way to get in touch with support. They never answer. When will this be fixed?

Go here → to OpenAI’s bug bounty website. You can make money with the Bug Bounty for data leaks like that.

Purely theoretically, if it’s confirmed, it’ll be soon.

Chatgpt smooth as butter today. Hopefully it stays that way. Thanks for fixing it devs.

No talks on compensation? OpenAi support is as good as Ryan Air support

Except for a serious memory decoder or context-thread parser error. which I detected.

Eh, seems fine to me. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Update from the status page:

All impacted services have now fully recovered. The detailed Root Cause Analysis (RCA) will be published in the next 5 business days.
