Hi OpenAI team and community,
I’m Faizan Rasheed, a software developer from Pakistan with around three years of experience in web development, including JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Angular, React and Next.js.
AI coding agents are advancing extremely quickly. From my own experience, development work that previously required significant manual coding can now be completed much faster with AI agents. This is exciting technology, but it is also creating a difficult transition for developers whose careers and livelihoods were built around these skills.
I believe companies leading this transition could consider creating a Developer Transition & Micro-Grant Program.
The program could provide affected developers with small startup grants, API/cloud credits, AI training, mentorship, or accelerator access so they can build new businesses and products using AI instead of simply being displaced by it.
For example, grants in the range of $5,000–$10,000 could give individual developers enough runway to test an AI product, e-commerce business, SaaS product, or another small startup.
I would personally be very interested in such a program. I want to adapt to AI and build something of my own rather than resist technological progress.
I’d also be interested to hear from other developers: Would a transition/micro-grant program like this help you?

Thank you for considering the idea.
