I tried to use DALL-E to create an impressionist painting inspired by urban projects and the Bronx NYC area, which hold personal meaning for me. My request kept getting flagged for violating content policies.
It feels inconsistent because I could probably generate a mansion without any issue. Why are depictions of one societal context (wealth) okay, but the other (urban housing) is considered too sensitive?
Art should reflect all perspectives, not erase some because of arbitrary rules. These policies assume the worst intentions and end up silencing authentic representation. Even the AI itself acknowledged the backwardness.
Anyone else experience this?
