Codex needs a set of custom keyboard shortcuts to instantly switch both the model and reasoning effort. (e.g. Alt + 1, Alt +2, Alt +3)
This would make it much faster to adapt to different tasks (e.g. changing a button on a page vs doing backend work)
You can already change the reasoning level with shift+up and shift+down
In the Windows desktop app it doesn’t work. I’ve set in the settings the Ctrl+Alt+up/down and it works only in Work mode, but doesn’t work in Chat mode.
