Custom GPT does not follow instructions

I have worked with Custom GPT for a long time but have not been able to get it to follow instructions consistently. Sometimes it works well, sometimes it doesn’t.

I have tried modifying the instructions, and I’ve asked GPT step by step to explain why it doesn’t follow the instructions exactly, but I can’t find a clear pattern or a sustainable solution.

Perhaps I don’t have access to the full capacity of Custom GPT and GPT-4o for Custom GPT since I live in Sweden/Europe?

When I ask which version my Custom GPT is running, it replies GPT-4, based on information from November 2023, and not GPT-4o as stated on the OpenAI website.

I would appreciate any help.

Were it to actually be running ChatGPT’s version of GPT-4 (turbo), you actually might have some semblance of instruction-following.

Instead, the capability of the unselectable model, which only replies with a version name because OpenAI put “gpt-4” in the system message, just gets worse and worse. I have given up all GPTs, mine continuing to break and ignore anything told to them, because there is no point in a prompt library powered by the worst model selection.
