Japanese text input is broken on the ChatGPT app for macOS. This issue occurs only when the search toggle is enabled.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the ChatGPT app.
  2. Enable the search toggle.
  3. Switch to Japanese input mode.
  4. Type “a” or any character.

Observed Behavior:

• The cursor shifts momentarily and then snaps back to its starting position, and the text that was typed disappears…
• This symptom is also observed in the Chat Bar.

Additional Notes:

• When the search toggle is off, text input works normally.
• However, a related issue persists even with the search toggle off. This issue occurs when starting to input text in an empty field, where the characters typed overlap with the placeholder text, making it unreadable. For further details, refer to discussion #958230 at community.openai.

I am experiencing the same issue. It’s very inconvenient.
