Confidential Security Suggestion to Enhance User Privacy in ChatGPT (Voice/Text Authentication) – Earn Credit & Ensure Safety

Dear OpenAI Community,

I’d like to share a security idea that has already been submitted via email to the OpenAI team on April 5, 2025, for official consideration. I’m now sharing it here as well to gather feedback, community support, and to spread awareness about this important privacy concern.

Dear OpenAI Team,

I hope you’re doing well. My name is Unique Sitender (aka Sitendra Bharti)—an active user and AI enthusiast.

I’d like to share a unique and valuable security suggestion that could enhance the privacy protection of ChatGPT users on mobile devices, especially those who use personal context features.

The Concern:

Many users—including myself—use ChatGPT for private, sensitive, and emotional conversations. Since ChatGPT remains logged in on mobile, anyone with physical access to the phone (like a family member or friend) can impersonate the user and ask personal questions—either via text or voice input—and receive confidential responses.

This presents serious privacy and trust risks, such as:

  1. Voice impersonation – Using voice input pretending to be the original user.

  2. Text impersonation – Typing in a familiar tone or using nicknames/context to extract sensitive info.

Suggested Solution:

To ensure safety and maintain user trust, I propose the following optional security features within the ChatGPT mobile app:

Voice recognition authentication before responding to sensitive voice prompts.

Passcode/passphrase verification before revealing personal/contextual data.

A “personal context lock” mode that verifies identity when accessing stored memories.

My Intent:

This suggestion is purely aimed at improving user security and keeping ChatGPT as a safe, trusted AI assistant. I also humbly request credit if this idea or any part of it is implemented or further explored, as it’s an original thought stemming from real-life usage and concern.

Thank you so much for building this incredible platform, and for always prioritizing safety, ethics, and innovation.

Warm regards,
Unique Sitender
