Codex on mac is kinda broken?

So there was apparently an update with things no one asked for.

And now this. Which just happens over and over, nothing works in the app anymore. For some reason reason it massively steals swap space for ram as well, and eventually just causes the “Your system has run out of memory” message to appear.

I have had nothing but problems with this, and for how expensive it is to get all the features we should never have problems, or have experimental updates pushed to users.

Clicking update codex is a false update button that just tells me im up to date, and of course toml isn’t accessible, and reloading just repeats the bug.

Ah, so digging deeper into the cause, it’s OpenAI’s fault for pushing an update that removed features without gracefully migrating one of their config files, which kinda left codex in broken state, basically deleting the .codex folder in user folder (which of course makes you lose everything history/memory wise) was the only way to get a new toml to be created correctly.

This is a huge huge mess up by whoever your devs are OpenAI. This is a basic thing. A first grade programmer would have noticed this immediately.

Also, where are the speed options now? Gone? Another thing taken away? 100/mo for this plan is way over priced for how gated and limited things are. Very disappointed.
