Codex: Follow-up behavior & Require CMD + enter settings ignored

Ever since the last couple of updates the following settings have been ignored:

  • Follow-up behavior
  • Require CMD + enter

When you click to submit a prompt, it defaults to steer regardless of your settings. CMD + enter does the same.

There is a setting that controls the default behavior for follow-up messages. It can be set to either Queue messages or Steer.

So the setting has been discovered, and the report is that it is not working.

But: not working where? A Mac or Windows App? Command-line Codex? A setting by the config file? Using a IDE extension?
