Codex Can't Run Commands: Error: spawn ... ENOENT

I just setup Codex in my WSL environment. Whenever I prompt it to help me with my web app, it tries to execute commands but this error happens:

Error: spawn {SOME COMMAND} ENOENT

Usually it’s a find or ls. Regardless, this ends up with it trying multiple times before thinking for 80+ seconds.

How do I get commands to work for Codex?

Also getting Invalid patch text when it trys to apply changes to my code.

Running export SHELL=/bin/bash then trying codex "my prompt" seems to have fixed my issues.

same thing. thought it might be the latest update of codex.

Codex isn’t impressing me. Most of the time, patches aren’t applied. Also, I have to specify files to reference or use as context, it acts like it isn’t within the context/directory of a project. At this point, it’s easier and cheaper to have ChatGPT Pro and just paste in files for edits there.

Getting this same issue. I am on mac os 0.1.2504251709
