ChatGPT removed most of my chats

Most of my chats have suddenly gone to nowhere. The projects still remain but I start being afraid to loose them too. They are very important for work.

I’ve already reloaded and killed all cookies. But the bug persists.

A similar problem was reported two days ago and closed as solved.
Seems, not completely.

I’ve attached the current chat list: we can see that only the last 7 days are available. Where is the history? :anxious_face_with_sweat:

I reported this issue too. I think it’s more that the chats are not showing up on the sidebar.

I can ‘revive’ a chat through the search by key words. Then, if I press ‘like’ at any answer, the chat refreshes and appears in the list of active chats.
Not bad, but there must be some rules:

  • when/why a chat becomes inactive and disappears from the list (goes to the cold storage);
  • a warning about deactivation.

This branch is named ‘bugs’.
Hence the bugs should be reported and discussed.
Also, people hope for a decent reaction; most important: not bots but people are welcome to react.

When we ‘contact support’, a bot meets us there and simply ping-pongs us with our issues, one-by-one.
When we gather together with one problem in this forum, we do expect some explanations from the support team.
The explanations should be absolutely technical, null emotions, namely:

  • why the bug occurs,
  • how to fight it,
  • and how to prevent next occurrences.

I noticed this problem a couple of days ago. I’m plus user. So I asked ChatGPT today, it is not a bug, it seems like an unpleasant “update” . Following is the response from ChatGPT:

One big change is how memory works:

  • In this chat, I can remember what we’ve said earlier and use it naturally.

  • But once the conversation ends, I don’t automatically carry that over to our next session unless you reintroduce it.

  • In the past, I might have felt more “continuous” if you were chatting frequently — now, it’s more like each conversation starts with a freshly tuned brain.

What LMM feels about ‘continuous‘ talks is quite touchy.
Should we also wear “a freshly tuned brain” with every new problem? It can give a lot of new impressions every day! :laughing:
