I’m using ChatGPT 5.4 Thinking (“Heavy thinking”) within a Project.
When responding to my message/input, ChatGPT completely ignores the most recent topic as well as my message/input and provides an answer correlated to previous messages/context/topics occurred earlier in the conversation.
When asked to clarify why it did so, it replies that it “has selected the wrong thread”.
This behaviour first occurred a few days ago and is now happening very often (I’d say once every 5 messages). So far the workaround has been to make him notice that “he has lost track of the thread at hand” upon which he usually resumes the most recent thread and goes back answering as expected.
This makes the product almost unusable. And I’m a Pro subscriber.
