Chatgpt.com website doesn't list the active model

When I access https://chatgpt.com/, I see this:

For a short time that drop-down listed options like ChatGPT4o so I could tell which model was being used, but that disappeared.

How do I tell which model is being used, without that option being displayed?

No responses? I can’t tell or choose which OpenAI model I’m using as the above screenshot from the OpenAI website no longer displays or allows selection of which OpenAI model to use.

For a few hours, a while back, it correctly displayed the model being used, but that quickly disappeared. The OpenAI website has been broken in this regard for weeks.

Can someone please confirm if you see the same as the screenshot above?

It’s been weeks and I still have no indication on my ChatGPT page to confirm which model is being used.

I suspect some users may see different options.

Hi!
When using my Free account I see the same drop-down as in your screenshot.
When logged in to my Plus account the same drop-down is the model selection menu.

Not sure what is causing this behavior on your device. Or is this something you see with all devices that you are using with your account?

Can someone from Openair please confirm how I know and choose which free model is being used? @EricGT

The only reply that I can give is that when I login to ChatGPT in the upper left I have a model selector.

I’m still presented with:

This makes it confusing which version I’m using.

The one with the check mark. :slightly_smiling_face:

It’s possible to identify the exact model by looking into the web request from your browser.

Pinging @anon22939549 because I recall that he knows exactly how to get this info.
