Hello everyone. Chat Gpt 4 or 4o does not respond “intelligently” to my requests. For example I entered this prompt
“I will give you the text of an interview with someone who had a car accident. If the text is in English, translate this car accident experience from English to Italian. If it is in Italian, try to make this Italian fluent without omitting details. Paragraph by paragraph”.
In response, ChatGpt began generating a completely made-up story without waiting for my text.
The problem is identical to that on chatgpt 4 and chatgpt 3.5.
Responses are generated very quickly.
Is there something wrong with my request (which worked before) or are there any issues going on?

Also having the same issues too with both gpt4 and gpt4o. Any text related tasks that previously worked great with the same prompts are now awful. E.g: I asked chatgprt to try reduce the word count of a passage of text by 20% and it removed more like 60 - 70%. Both iterations of the model seem way less intelligent. Have not found a solution yet either.
I hope It’s some temporary issue and they will fix it!

I’m encountering a similar issue. Despite ChatGPT’s occasional hallucinations, it’s also failing to adhere to my specific instructions. For instance, despite requesting it not to reiterate the structure of a text repeatedly, it persists in doing so. Moreover, when I ask for a new internet source for a given text, it simply regurgitates the same text with the identical source. This dilemma has persisted for approximately two days now.
Note: only noted this in GPT-4o

You are right Jonas, GPT-4 seem to work like It should but 4o is more or less a 3.5

Absolutely Jonas! It seems 4o has become less smarter than the previous version. It keeps on reiterate stuff which are not required and does not stay on the topic

Just wanted to give you an update. Seems like the problem is fixed (at least partly as far as I can say by now). 4o does not reiterate more than the usual in 4 and also does not do much more than I ask it for.
Have you got new findings about this issue?

Hello, same problem, it’s been 5 days since I can no longer use CHAT GPT… The GPT’s no longer work and no longer respect a single instruction.
It’s very annoying, over 4 months, CHAT GPT worked for 2 weeks!
I don’t understand why they can announce these updates as revolutionary when nothing is functional anymore and chat gpt has lost all its usefulness.
Legally, I think this is a problem because the service is paid for and it is not normal to have to wait several weeks to benefit from the service you are paying for!
I have the same issues with chaptgpt 4o, never in ChatGPT 4. Usually when I point out an error in ChatGPT 4, it quickly recognizes its mistake and fixes it. In ChatGPT 4o, it would apologize and reiterate the same reply with the mistake. There was no acknowledgement of what the error was. It generates responses very quickly but its word vomit without actually answering my question. I had to ask it to burn into memory never to repeat the same information and to only provide precise answer to my question; otherwise it would give me 30 scenarios and 30 related information that might be useful.
I’m a paid user so I feel forced to use ChatGPT 4o bc 4 is now free (and I think 4o is too but has limitation). I wish they had upgrade the intelligence rather than the speed bc I feel like I’m talking to a virtual assistant that doesn’t know what I’m saying if I got off script.

I am having similar problems with ChatGPT 4o. I use it for code and on 4 version it still made a lot of mistakes but, and this is important, it was trying to fix when I was saying something is wrong.
ChatGPT 4o if it give me a not functional code I say is not functional and sometimes I point the mistakes and then it give me the same code like in a loop. All over again no matter what I say it simply seems to not work anymore. I never had this issues in the past. Not like this. Sometimes it did the same thing but not in a row. Now is not working at all.
Even more, I feel the response themselves are way worst at least for coding.

I also have found another strange issue, when I post large chunks of code lets say 700 lines and chatgpt4o will give it back to me with a modification (might only be a single line) but it sometimes leaves out chunks of other code when it says it is showing the modified code in full (no placeholder or comments in the code that anything is left out nor should it be)
The amount of code left out can vary from 20 - 100 lines; whole chunks of it just gone for unknown reasons. I must of seen this now about 12 times.

Yes, exact same problem as everyone else in this thread. ChatGPT4o doesn’t seem to listen at all, acts confused, and when I point out the mistakes, the same thing is just repeated. I have to go back to ChatGPT4 to work.
Its much worse than it used to be. In March 2023 when I asked Chat GPT 4 “Tell a complex story with a contradiction that is subtle and very difficult to find. I will try to find it and if I can’t I will ask for clues” it did very well, so well that I kept asking for stories, and saved the entire conversation. Now (June 1 2024) when I give Chat GPT (4o and 4) that exact prompt it falls on its face.
i am also facing same, chatgp4o is giving very wrong and inaccurate answers
i have provided raw data, just need to extract information accurately from that, but it failed
answers are very irrelevant
GPt is definitely dead since GPT0 exit.
Personalized gpts are used less and less because they respect no instructions and no longer wean us from anything.
Open Ai is sinking and will soon disappear.
