I had to go through an absurd amount of back and forth with the AI to finally get it to explain to me how it knew what year it was.

This is an image of its last response, when I finally got it to answer me truthfully on how it knew what year it was. Just wanted to share this as there’s no reason that the AI should beat around the bush like this when it comes to simple information regarding itself.

Asking ChatGPT how it works will almost never work. It knows what the date is because it’s part of the “system prompt” at the beginning of every conversation.
