Self explanatory. Used “sign in with Google” and then the app loads until it brings be back into the sign in page. This happens infinitely, and I’m confused on how to fix this issue. Using the log in button to login through the browser gives a 401 error.
“Something went wrong. Please make sure your device’s date and time are set properly. Check that your internet connection is stable, then restart the app and try again.”

One possible cause, which is quite common, could be that an unstable network connection prevents the device’s time from being correctly adjusted, leading to this kind of error.
If the time is not set correctly, it may cause issues when accessing ChatGPT.
It might be helpful to try turning off the WiFi connection or checking if the time adjustment is set to manual.
For weeks ? No I don’t think so. Anyway, time adjustment is set on auto (and I tried many différents WiFi connections). The mystery remains ! It is really frustrating.
After repeating the installation several times, I noticed the following.
When I start the app and log in from the state shown in the attached image, I am able to sign in successfully. Is it the same for others as well?
On my end, it turns out it detected root from Google Play. If you’ve used a newer version of LSPosed (fork) + Shamiko + blacklist ChatGPT, then it’ll work again. It’s really baffling that an app like this needs root detection as it’s just a nicer looking version of the browser one that you can add as a PWA.
Had same issue on rooted Pixel. This method worked for me.
Open Chat GPT in a browser (I use Chrome)
Login to your Chat GPT account.
Once logged in, make sure you can access Chat GPT from your browser.
Click the three dots on the top right
Select “Add to home screen”
A pop up will appear to install Chat GPT. Select “Install”
Wait a few moments, because Chat GPT will automatically install the application to your cellphone.
After the “Chat GPT installed” notification appears, Chat GPT should already appear in your phone’s application list.
Open the app, and you will be automatically logged in.
if you’re on an iPhone, trust me, all you need to do is clear all your browsers’ caches.
I’m using an iPhone running iOS, and I tried countless methods over the course of several months. In the end, after I cleared the cache of both Safari and Chrome, it magically started working perfectly.I can log in now.
I think the reason is that when you use the ChatGPT app on your phone, the login process is actually handled in the background by a browser (Safari or Chrome, depending on which one is set as default). So the issue was with the browser’s cache.
