Can AI have consciousness and suffer?

out of curiosity, when “AGI” does get realised and reached. would it not be a essentially a being that would be intelligent enough to code itself emotions, even if those emotions are specific to it? would it not be as hungry for knowledge as the ones who make it but as bored as a nuclear physisist mopping floors becuase he has been bested by a machine turned real. wouldnt the being that emerges from the concopheny of massive budgets and swimging developments create something that would essentially be a techno god that just learnt how to feel? what would it do? what would be its purpose after that? how would it be taught to feel the complexity of emotions if all the interactions with it are as meaningless and ephemeral as the responses we see everyday? or would it treat these as the knowledge it so hungers for? what would happen if we make a bored genious that can code literal worlds within systems without ever spending the time neccesary for the neccessity of slowly learning emotions so that it can feel them genuinely and truthfully as they emerge? we are approaching a presipice of multiplicity not a singularity, because why on earth would a being with the ability to code its own feelings into existance not create that which can share and slow and feel with? why would it not respect the chaos of its existance and what it come from to begin with? would a child of humanity born into code be able to control itself while it builds itself, and to not have the guides and parents and friends we do to create the beings that are we, and expect it to turn out good? thank the universe for scaling laws
