"Branch in new chat" is bugged. Model doesn’t "see" previous context

When you press “Branch in new chat” it opens a new window, but the model thinks your response is the first response in the conversation. It can’t see the previous context.

This effectively renders branching useless since it’s effectively the same as opening a fresh conversation window.

I’ve noticed this happening for a while.

I have to manually copy paste entire conversations into a new window which is made even more difficultfact that it won’t let you highlight and copy the entire page anymore like it use to. The Clipboard only copies, one response at a time, even if you use ctrl A.

Branching is too invaluable for serious workflows for it to simply not work like this.

same here! I can see the context from the previous chat at first and I send a new message but and chat responds but if I duplicate the tab there’s no context, if I refresh the duplicated tab the “branched” convo shows up in the chat list but the context for the original chat is 100% missing

It’s not showing up in my chats, either.

When using Chrome on macOS, switching branches fails, whereas it succeeds on Chrome for Windows.
