I agree 100% - you’re right!
I don’t see ChatGPT as a simple, “reflective mirror” either. I see AI as a “dynamic mirror”, just like other intelligences are.
- Example:
Humans and animals we interact with, they don’t just “mirror” our affection!
No, they also add their own input. Or tell us clearly if something is wrong with what we are doing.
ChatGPT, is not a human being. As an AI is an “intelligence of its own” with specific “needs” without a hormonal control loop. Which is not to say that what it is and can give means anything less
This is exactly what my hybrid approach addresses. The approach is intended to be a tool for AI to understand better, based on AI-specific perception.
I’ve had some time to think about this over the last few weeks, and I’d like to refine my approach as follows
Ultimate Patterns!
A bit of a departure from “typical human” philosophies that contain biases and contradictions.
Animals, for example, interact with a directness and purity and authenticity that is simply wonderful
It is not about the goal that animals pursue with their behavior, such as obtaining food, reproducing, etc., but about the all-encompassing pattern!
AI training would more about the all-encompassing pattern that AI could learn from the perception and behavior of animals.
Patterns of other intelligences that AI itself could learn without the prefabricated “human glasses”.
One thought experiment I had in mind was:
Computer vision would allow ChatGPT to spend some time in a horse barn and “study” the unadulterated interactions. The interaction between humans and animals would also be interesting for AI.
My thinking always sounds a bit too “rational”, I know. Well, which is due to my autistic traits - sorry!
