Batch stuck in “finalizing” status for over 24 hours

Hi OpenAI Team,

I submitted a batch job on Nov 11 2025 at 14:06 UTC using the gpt-5-nano model.
The batch ID is:

batch_691334bce840819086039092fd93a1d6

It has now been more than 24 hours, and the status is still finalizing with no output files available.

This appears identical to prior reports on the forum where batches became stuck indefinitely at this stage.
According to the Batch API FAQ, all requests should complete or expire within 24 hours, but this job seems frozen.

Could you please investigate and either complete or release this batch?
If needed, I can provide the input file size and other parameters.

I’m using response endpoints and schema with batch api and its completely unusable. Not a single batch is processed within the time frame and expires after 24 hours creating hundreds of log entries but no completion

What’s the status of your batches that got stuck?

I’m in a similar situation. I’ve been waiting for 24 hours since all requests were completed, and the batch is still in the ‘finalizing’ state (tutal running time 34hrs+). There’s no option to cancel this in CP like there is for batches that get stuck in the running state.

Have you found a way to recover results from that batch? In my case, it’s over 7,000 requests that took 10 hours to complete.

What can be done?
