Background tool calls spawn visible terminals

Since the latest application update, initiating or progressing through conversations in Codex triggers a flood of terminal windows on Windows machines. Instead of execution staying silent, every single background process or tool call invoked by Codex spawns a completely new, visible terminal instance on screen. As multiple background terminals pile up concurrently with each chat interaction, it creates visual clutter and is irritatinig, breaking the development workflow.

pls fix this..

Does anyone have any work arounds?

This should be fixed in the latest Windows app, which includes the 0.159.2 console-window fix. Please update through Microsoft Store, quit and reopen the app, then retry a tool call. Let us know if the windows still appear.
