I created an Assistant and added an FAQ.pdf with the new File Search. But whenever I ask the assistant something it ignores the FAQ and comes up with own ideas. Is there any best practice?

If you are using v2 it seems to be an issue on their end.
If you want to make it work a short cut is to enforce in the prompt to use the attachment as simple as use the attachment and then it will work.

I just tested a lot - as soon as the prompt is a bit longer the files are ignored. It’s absolutely no reliable. I can’t force it with every message to check the attachment. I hope OpenAI will fix it.
I found the same issue. Even reducing the prompt to just one line, it ignores the file uploaded with file_search.
Also, when asking explicitly to use the attachment, Playground shows ‘Running retrieval…’ before answering, retrieval doesn’t run otherwise.
Adding ‘Use attachtment’ to the prompt, doesn’t work, it has to be part of the thread messages.
