My assistant is working great via API
but i have one problem, it don’t want to send links in responses :
i have a small knowledge base attached to it, where all the examples are.
every time it gives correct response, but with no links.
is it possible to fix it?
Have you included the request to extract and include links in your instructions?
The first question: what kind of links do you expect?
The AI has been trained to not provide links or citations, because its knowledge is not up to date, and the AI has a problem with making web links that don’t work or never existed.
For your own documents are injected into the AI context (like part of the prior chat), so the AI doesn’t seem them as files.
Additionally, the assistants is supposed to support an annotations mechanism, where it can give citations of files, but this is rather pointless for chunked data retrieval, and also just doesn’t work.
You can just put a list of the 10 files you are allowed to upload in your UI and say “it’s all in here, pal” as easily as hoping the backend system were to work to list one of them.
