API signal for thinking start and thinking end

How can I show the thinking tokens (thinking words) for gpt-5 and gpt-5-mini?
I have a chat app that connects to the api. I cant find or figure out how the API server emits the thinking tokens. in apps like ChatGPT and Cursor, the thinking tokens show up when the AI is thinking.

I haven’t seen any API information saying there’s a way to directly stream or receive the “thinking tokens”. Can you even do that yet?
