Hello. GPT-5.6 Sol will often refuse my prompts, even when they are completely harmless. For example:
Looks like your prompt violated usage policies like it said.
The moderation AI is flagging an ambiguous statement that doesn’t seem to be a prompt. It seems to be an incomplete thought, such as “normally” (but then in this diagram, instead, we show…)
Let’s make the prompt actionable and have it provide the product to you as an image (what you mean by “simple diagram” could otherwise take many forms, such as a text-based Mermaid chart).
Create an image with the style of an infographic explaining steps of machine learning, resulting in a pretrained transformer LLM.
Initialize a neural network’s parameters.
Move the model and a batch of training data to a GPU or other accelerator.
Run a forward pass to produce predictions.
Compute a loss function measuring how far the predictions are from the training objective.
Use backpropagation to calculate how each parameter contributed to the loss.
Use an optimizer, such as Adam or stochastic gradient descent, to update the weights and biases.
Repeat across many batches and epochs.
Evaluate on separate validation data to check whether the model is actually generalizing.
I am giving clear prompts but they are still failing. Why is OpenAI doing this? With GPT-5.5 I could just say “I’m traveling to Mexico” and it would know what I mean, and it would give me 10 ideas for places to visit.
