After using ChatGPT extensively, I believe one of the next major opportunities is helping users organize and preserve their personal knowledge—not just create new content.
Many of us have accumulated years (or decades) of information across Apple Notes, Microsoft OneNote, Notion, Evernote, Obsidian, Google Keep, and other note systems. Finding, organizing, and maintaining that knowledge has become more difficult than creating it.
I would love to see ChatGPT become an intelligent knowledge assistant that helps users safely organize their notes while keeping them in complete control.
Suggested capabilities
Analyze note libraries and recommend better folders, notebooks, titles, tags, and organization.
Find duplicate, related, outdated, or forgotten notes using semantic search—not just keywords.
Rediscover valuable ideas by connecting older notes with current projects and interests.
Create backups, preserve metadata, and require user approval before moving, merging, archiving, or deleting anything.
Support multiple note platforms, including Apple Notes, Microsoft OneNote, Notion, Evernote, Obsidian, Google Keep, and future knowledge-management tools.
Guiding principle: Preserve first. Organize second. Delete last.
Instead of replacing existing note applications, ChatGPT could become a trusted librarian, archivist, and research assistant that helps users manage a lifetime of accumulated knowledge safely and intelligently.
