Add a Feature to Pin Conversations for Easy Access

Hello OpenAI Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe could greatly improve the user experience for ChatGPT users: the ability to pin conversations.

Feature Description:

The “Pin Conversation” feature would allow users to mark specific conversations as important or frequently used. These pinned conversations would remain at the top of the conversation list for easy and quick access, regardless of the order of other conversations.

Use Case Examples:

  1. Important Discussions: Users could pin conversations containing critical information they frequently refer to, such as ongoing projects or long-term plans.

  2. Recurring Topics: Users who repeatedly ask about the same topics or projects (e.g., code snippets, project plans, or brainstorming ideas) can quickly jump to their relevant threads without searching through their conversation history.

  3. Organizational Benefits: For users managing multiple threads, pinning can help organize discussions by priority or relevance.

Benefits:

Improved Productivity: Quickly access important conversations without searching.

Better Organization: Helps users manage their workspace more efficiently.

Enhanced User Experience: Simplifies navigation, especially for users with many conversations.

How It Could Work:

• Add a “Pin” option in the menu for each conversation.

• Pinned conversations are highlighted or sorted to the top of the conversation list.

• Allow users to unpin a conversation when it’s no longer relevant.

Final Note:

This feature would be particularly valuable for professionals or power users who engage in frequent and extensive conversations. I believe it aligns with the platform’s goal of making AI interactions seamless and user-friendly.

Thank you for considering this suggestion. I’d love to hear your thoughts or provide additional details if needed!

Best regards,
Erhan

I just created this account just to request the same feature. I see that there are many other requests as well so it is definetely a consensus that it should be in place.
