Hi 11 yr Vet, 10-year Entrepreneur, Digital Media and Communications, which has UX/UI, plus I’ve done some things. Amazing product! CRISPR, Nuralink, Tesla Robots, GPT… Brave new world. But, I have some recommendations for efficiency in both user and GPT processing and using resources. I am for hire. GPT 100X’d me. Check some of the convo’s. Good time.
Feature Request: Custom Launch Key & Prompt Composure Workspace
1. Custom “Send” / Launch Key
- Add a setting to allow users to choose or remap the send key—options like
Ctrl+Enter
,Alt+Enter
, or a dedicated button. - Prevents accidental message sends while typing; aligns with frequent user feedback around key misfires.
2. Expanded Prompt Editor Area
- Offer a resizable, word-processor-style input pane with full-page width support.
- Support headings, bullet lists, code formatting, fonts, and inline ghost-text suggestions like “Add context…” or “Define tone…”
- Enables clearer structure and planning before sending prompts.
3. Modular Block-Based Input & Section Nav
- Let users split input into titled sections (e.g., Background, Goals, Details).
- Provide a collapsible sidebar Table of Contents to jump between or reorder blocks.
- Send or edit each block independently for more control during long tasks.
4. In-Editor Prompting & Intelligent Scaffolding
- Include contextual placeholder prompts (tooltips, dropdowns) within the editor to suggest style, depth, task type.
- Helps guide users in real time without disrupting composition flow.
Why These Matter
- Prevents accidental submissions and gives users “space” to think.
- A richer editor helps craft complex, high-quality queries.
- Section-based modularity allows clearer thought flow, reuse, and iteration.
- Embedded guidance transforms composition into a guided experience—no need to switch contexts.
Community Context & Demand
- Users have repeatedly requested Enter key remapping options in forums and GitHub .
Thanks for considering! This “Prompt Composer” UI—melding a rich editor with modular sections and intelligent inline support—could make complex tasks far easier to manage and more effective. Happy to provide wireframes or use-case flow outlines if helpful!
