This is happening for only one particular prompt. The prompt itself is some 11 paragraphs. These 11 paragraphs itself are a result of GPT-3.5 for which I had asked for a executive summary of the the 11 paragraphs.

Well that’s not a super short prompt. Should take several seconds, in my experience. What kind of performance are you seeing? How many seconds?

BTW: I think one reason people like the streaming responses is that it probably can start generating output much faster and keep the user entertained by watching the text wizz across the screen.

My own app just makes the user wait and then pops the whole answer onto the screen all at once.

if you want to observe what’s going on, it’s a good idea to consider using the stream option. especially with gpt-4, particularly if you’re already generating the final product if not simply for ux reasons.

gpt-4-1106-preview is far faster and it completes under a minute.
