Dr.Nikolaos Tsinganos is a dedicated academic with a strong foundation in Computer Science and a passion for cutting-edge research. He holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Applied Informatics at the University of Macedonia (UoM), where he is an active member of the Multimedia, Security, and Networking Laboratory (MSNLab) within the InfoSec Research Group. His academic journey began with a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, followed by an M.Sc. in Pervasive Computing Systems Engineering from Hellenic Open University.

Nikolaos’s research portfolio is extensive, with a particular focus on cybersecurity, especially social engineering recognition, utilising Deep Learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques. His work has contributed to several international and nationally-funded research and development projects (including collaborations with UoM, CERTH/HIT, AUTH, and NTUA-ICCS), showcasing his dedication to advancing the field of cybersecurity artificial intelligence.

Nikolaos’s academic affiliation with the University of Macedonia includes membership in the Multimedia, Security, and Networking Laboratory (MSNLab) within the InfoSec Research Group. Simultaneously, his professional journey spans over two decades and covers roles such as IT Manager, Head Cloud Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, and Software Engineer in the private sector. This rich professional background complements his research interests, which revolve around social engineering detection using cutting-edge technologies like Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing methods. He has been an active contributor to numerous EU-funded projects and currently serves as the Head Cloud Engineer at Dataways, overseeing Cloud Computing, Kubernetes, Microservices, Digital Transformation, DevOps, and more. In his spare time, Nikolaos enjoys sharing his expertise through tutorials and articles while supporting fellow professionals in the field of computer science.
