I have a background in neural networks, natural language processing, and speech recognition. Since 1994 I’ve been working in medical research: large scale data acquisition and analysis in intensive care. I recently began work on software to assist in doing systematic reviews, which typically require analyzing and combining the research results reported in thousands of scientific papers turned up in search results. I have been very interested in testing the viability of using NLP to assist in processing these enormous masses of data. Chat GPT broke at just the right moment in this development. I am completely stunned by this breakthrough, which I thought I would never see in my lifetime. My focus at the moment is integrating this incredible technology into software for assisting in systematic reviews.
