Exact same issues.

Card works on multiple sites. Transacted online and in person several times today. Open AI is the only one not allowing the card.

Stripe youā€™re losing a lot of money for OpenAI!

Same issue for me. I get ā€œYour credit card was declined. Try paying with a debit card instead.ā€ Called credit card company ā€“ the transaction never made it to them. Decline is not from credit card company.

Same problem here. Billing had worked for two months and then all of a sudden stopped working. Fix your credit card processing system!

Same issue. OpenAIā€™s article did not resolve it.
Iā€™ve tried multiple cards, Apple Pay, multiple devices, multiple browsers, cellular & WiFi, and all the generic troubleshooting steps. These transactions arenā€™t even hitting my cards. Itā€™s pretty clear that Stripe is the problem - not the people trying to pay OpenAI more money.

Please read all these comments. Itā€™s very clear the issue is with Stripe, not our cards/devices/banks/locations.

Iā€™m having same issues as above described; tried multiple cards, using chrome and brave on laptop and mobile phone, called my bank and they said the decline hasnā€™t hit their system. Very frustrating.

Did not work for me. Iā€™ve tried everything. Multiple credit and debit cards, multiple browsers, incognito mode, phone. Rejected every time. The service is supposed to be available in Ireland but either itā€™s not, or Stripe is rejecting Irish payment methods, which would be sad considering that the Stripe founders are Irish.

Not working in India too. Tried with different cards. Also tried with with mobile data as suggested by @remigijus.dailide . Still not working. Please fix this soon. You might lose lot of paid subscribers.

Finally got it to work as a US resident. I went on mobile (iPhone) > turned off wifi (use cellular) > turned off VPN/iCloud Private Relay, signed into ChatGPT via a different gmail account than I used with the service previously > set up payment via Apple Pay.
I tried entering the card number in manually and using Link service, on mac/pc/mobile, but not luck. This combination above finally worked for me. Good luck to anyone struggling with this!

I used ICICI Credit Card and purchased it using mobile data. it worked like a charm.

My issue was solved after plugging in my card info through my phone (I have an iPhone 13) instead of on my M2 Mac mini. Not entirely sure why, but if youā€™re dealing with this, try using your phone instead.

The issue seems to be the apple private relay. Disable it or use a vpn like 1and1 or Google One VPN
