I am from a supported country (France). I started trying chatGPT with a personal account, and it was working just fine. Then I wanted to use it for my own business activity and I registered for a Premium account, using my business email address. And it worked just fine as well.
Then I was asked after a few days to enter my mobile phone #, which I did. But I had an error as it was the same phone # I used to register my personal account (I only have one mobile number). So what I did was I deleted my personal account and then tried again. And then, when entering my mobile phone again to login on my Premium account, I have this error : “Your account was flagged for potential abuse” ! It suggest to contact help.openai.com but there is absolutely no way to either fix the problem using chatbots or contact the “real” support. This is a real joke … and I am paying for it !
Has anyone gone thru the same issue ??

Sorry but if by “you can have access” you mean access to your service or access to OpenAI support, I have afraid this is not true … see below : Your account was flagged for potential abuse. If you feel this is an error, please contact us at help.openai.com - #27 by FBZardoz

It seems you didn’t read the thread completely. We are not posting the solutions for supported countries here in this thread. The solution we are posting is in another thread - I posted the link above - please go to the other thread, and read the thread as much as possible.

A half hour ago one of the posters of that thread followed the (last release of) step-by-step instructions and he got access in his supported country.

If you’re in a supported country - follow the instructions provided in that thread you can also have your access - but fix my email doesn’t work - there is no human support in OpenAI for weeks now.

The problem stills exist for non-supported countries. That is difficult to manage.

I actually read the 84 messages of the whole thread. Even the one where you recommend to write a letter to the President of the United State :slight_smile:
Actually I don’t need to create a new account for which I would setup a clean env, with a new browser, a different email address and a different IP. I just want to use the premium service I am paying for with my registered business email address. I believe there should an available support from OpenAI at least for premium accounts. So if you have a suggestion about how I could achieve this without having to create a new account, I am interrested ! Thanks.

That is an entirely different case. But if you are already paying for a premium service - and you had your business email already registered - at the time of the subscription you also had to register your phone number, received an SMS confirmation code, and everything is “supposed” to be fine. What happened?

Many of these flagged issues are for the people trying to sign-up, they are not users yet. As you said, you’re already a user.

If you didn’t change your system or access mode in any way or tried to access from an unsupported country in travel, you should be fine.

I promise to not criticize OpenAI support in public anymore to myself.
I am using their services, I am on some waitlist for new stuff, and I don’t feel comfortable talking about this in forum threads.
