Why is your pricing scheme illogical?

Hi team.

Just wondering why your business pricing jumps from 20 to 20x multi-seat. What happens for sole traders? I can’t imagine it would be particularly difficult to implement pricing schemes like for the private accounts (ie 100/month) for increased access without having to go to per use access. The same kind of pricing that drew so many people into gyms then while they don’t use the gym anymore they keep paying for it, while the few people that do actually use it gain a lot from it. Just saying…

It would be very helpful to be able to have access to a few more tokens each month consistenly while having an “entre-deux” between pro-business and pay as you go.

Thanks a lot !

You can contact support@openai.com if you wish.

I’m a sole trader wrt to my OpenAI account.

The Pro ChatGPT account is probably most suitable for sole traders. You can use this for Codex.

For Production systems you would in any case pay for API credits directly on https://platform.openai.com with a single account.

I get what you mean - that jump can feel a bit much for solo users.

The closest option right now is the Pro plan, which is still individual but gives a big bump in usage (more tokens, higher limits, faster responses, etc.), without needing a team setup.

For anything more heavy-duty or production use, most people just use the API on a pay-as-you-go basis alongside that.

You can check out the current plans here: https://chatgpt.com/pricing/

That’s a really good point

The gap between individual and business pricing does feel too large, especially for solo users.

A middle-tier plan with higher monthly limits would make a lot of sense and probably appeal to a lot of people

What’s wrong with the two tiers of Pro?
