In this week I noticed this difference. My computer is Intel(R) Xeon(R) W-2245 CPU @ 3.90GHz 3.91 GHz and 256G Membory, but slow in both chrome or edge.
On the other hand, my iphone 15 is much faster. Why is that? I like working on computer and only like playing on phone. So i wish to work more efficiently. Do you know why they don’t have the same speed?
I have the same problem. It’s a real pain and slows down my learning and working.
Are you using the same internet connection on both devices?
For the last 8 months or so only I’ve mainly used ChatGPT on my phone because for some reason, my broadband connection experiences more network errors and lag issues than mobile data does, even though it’s much faster and a lot more stable otherwise.
Yes. Same problem. Phone is so quick, but PC web version is so slow…
I’ve tried different browsers, incognito, clearing cache/cookies, disabling chrome extensions, turning off VPN, switching between the ethernet and wifi, still nothing…
My PC has pretty good specs too… 128GB ram, i7-13700k, rtx 3060…
Best work around I’ve been doing now is to send the messages on my phone and then refresh page on webversion when its done…
Yes this is the case. I have been having the same issue for the past week or so. In fact if you send the chat on the web version and watch it on your phone, it will almost instantly show up on the phone and you will have a blinking cursor on the web app. The only other work around is to close the conversation on the web app, reopen it and usually it is instantly there. This is very cumbersome to say the least. There are quite a few posts on this behavior, so others are clearly experiencing the same or very similar thing. Not sure what to do but this is really frustrating trying to get work done. Not a peep from anyone at openAI on this.
Has a solution been found for this situation? I’m dealing with precisely the same thing and it’s driving me nuts. It takes several minutes for a reply to a prompt on my computer and I simply cannot do my work on an ipad or phone. How have you sped things up? Thanks
I can’t believe this issue is not a priority for Open AI. I’ve tried Chat GPT on Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Cookies and cache deleted. Extensions disabled. Incognito/privacy mode. All of the browser stall on responses especially if the chat is lengthy (by lengthy, I mean like in the course of a day or two).
Android app is fine, usually. But copy/paste, file handling and other things are a pain on android. I have to believe the “power users” are accessing Chat GPT on their PC, right?
So, it seems this is an issue for those who access Chat GPT through their PC via a web browser. Since this issue seems to go back as far as January of 2024, I have to ask, are your “power users” even a priority at this point? This is completely unacceptable.
Same here, using Chrome and Firefox in my new laptop (Windows 11, 32Gb RAM, 13th Gen Intel Core i7), right after a restart, it takes literally anything between 30 secs and >3 mins to generate an answer, when in my old OnePlus 8T phone for the same questions it takes just seconds.
