Back in the day, on my first computer, the 80286 intel chip, the 16-bit one, I would fire up WordPerfect 5.1 and just start typing and it was snappy.
Now, using a modern Intel system with 16 CPU cores and 32 GB of RAM, yet when I begin typing in Codex, there’s a noticeable delay. For the first 3–5 seconds, the editor lags significantly before it catches up.
I was promised flying cars, but after several decades of exponential increases in computing power, here I am: complaining about typing speed in Codex in 2026.
P.S. Yes, my config.sys and autoexec.bat were super tweaked, but still.
