Currently the statement about the Web Browser plugin (Browse with Bing) missing from ChatGPT Plus is true.
As of July 3, 2023, we’ve disabled the Browse with Bing beta feature out of an abundance of caution while we fix this in order to do right by content owners. We are working to bring the beta back as quickly as possible, and appreciate your understanding!

Can you clarify where you saw that? I know this is widely stated (ref) but if it is from the official OpenAI documentation and as the plugin is currently unavailable then the documentation needs to be updated.

Yup we know this, but I think it’s pretty clear that you also know the only reason why any of us subscribed was specifically for the web search feature.
I upgraded to Chat GPT plus and i dont see the browsing option. And when i ask some new information, i am getting response of can not brose in real time and have information upto sept 21.
How to solve that issue ?
Browsing feature has been disabled until further notice

The feature was deactivated a month ago due issues with paywalls in certain websites. Does anyone know when the feature will be reactivated?
I loved it, one of the main reasons why I got ChatGPT Plus.

Summary created by AI.
Users are concerned about the sudden disappearance of the ‘Browse with Bing’ feature in ChatGPT Plus. Some users thought it could be a regional issue, while others found it disappearing after a page refresh. OpenAI responded that the feature has been temporarily disabled to fix some issues (ref). A user explained that this feature helped GPT search the internet for recent information to answer questions, but it could potentially display content in unwanted ways. Some users expressed discontent about the feature’s removal, considering it a significant part of the value in their paid subscription, especially for tasks like translating foreign content or navigating new tech platforms. Another user commented on alternatives like webpilot and voxscript for browsing web pages and advised users aren’t forced to subscribe to Plus since GPT-3.5 is free. OpenAI reassured users that the feature was temporarily removed due to a bug, but it will be back soon. Some newly registered users expressed disappointment as they signed up specifically for the browsing feature. As of July 3, 2023, the feature has been disabled in order to do right by content owners, but OpenAI is working to bring back the feature as soon as possible (ref). Some users demanded compensation for the removal of the feature they paid for. Other users asked for patience, explaining that new features need time for development.

In the meantime I recommend the Web Requests plugin. (I also make the plugin full disclosure). But I also can guarantee it will exceed your expectations and know the limitations you feel without it.

Will do so!
Does it need an URL to work though or does it crawl by itself thrugh the web?
It’s this easy:
Prompt: Do some thorough research into the top Al / ML tooling / developer-focused companies that have raised the largest rounds of funding in the past 6-12 months. And include the investment firms that are making the biggest investments, and a summary of their portfolio companies. Organize this information in a table, and summarize or contextualize in prose or other sections of the report underneath. Take as much time s you need and as many requests as you need and always remember I am here to answer any questions you might have.

Ok, seems pretty dope. I will definetly try it out.
The 2021 limitation of ChatGTP gets on my nerves, so hopefully this plugin will somehow fix it.

we are all paying for a product that does not do what is advertised. it barely works as it is, and if it does it doesn’t complete the most basic of tasks, it doesnt complete responses more frequently than it does. if it were free that would be one thing but to take away contractual features without giving a refund or some kind of compensation can’t be impervious to a class action. I have to read the legal docs again more carefully but this is insane.
They truly stole from me, in such a huge way. With my ADHD, i lack the executive function, follow through, the strategic methodology of refinement that is the interactive chat format that makes perfect sense to my brain, thoughts fleshed out and sitting there for me to go back to if i get up and get distracted (they were always there, waiting for me! the thoughts didnt just disappear into the ether!) all these things that chatGPT provided-- i wouldve paid multiple times what they are charging for the value i got out of it. it was life changing for me, in a real, tangible, day-to-day effective way, and obviously i would love to not have been so elevated by an external product but whatever works, and this thing WORKED. It feels like they took us out of platos cave, took us on an epic grand adventure, circled the harbor for a day or two making us think this was our new lives, then turned back into the harbor, handed us our own torches to make our own shadows and put us back behind bars in the cave.
im just so beyond disappointed
i didnt even open this website to make this post! i wasnt even thinking about this issue, thats already like done for, i came to post about help reading console log errors (it wont even open up in the first place now. i want my money and my hope back) and saw this thread and had to add my 2^x cents.
thank you for reading
Hi Javid92,
I’d be happy to go through your use case with you to help you find the issues you face, if you have code snippets and examples of prompts and results you think are not up to standard, I can go through them and assist you to correct them, so far I have not come across a users issue with the model that was not some combination of using more tokens than the model can process, incorrect prompt usage or a misunderstanding of the capabilities of the model.

This looks really interesting and I’m giving some serious thought to installing it.
Could you possibly say something about your privacy policies and what data the plugin sees and/or collects?
I looked on the plugin’s homepage (https://plugin.wegpt.ai/legal) and found:
Web Requests neither tracks nor stores your searches, queries, or content beyond caching in-memory for performance and efficiency purposes. We do not maintain a lengthy database of activity or content. Cache retention is limited to 24 to 48 hours.
That sounds very promising, but it’d give me the push I need if you could expand on that slightly.
