Hello,
I am a regular user of ChatGPT. While the system has improved significantly, there are still challenges with interactive tables and user data management that need attention. Here are some key concerns and suggestions for improvement:
1. Issues with Interactive Tables
Slows Down Computers – Large interactive tables consume significant CPU and RAM, affecting system performance.
Cannot Copy Data – Users cannot easily extract data in text format, making it difficult to use elsewhere.
Cannot View Entire Table at Once – Long tables require scrolling, disrupting user concentration.
Requires Additional Steps – Accessing and modifying tables requires extra effort, making them less user-friendly.
Proposed Solutions:
Allow users to choose between an interactive table and a static text-based table.
Display interactive tables only when explicitly requested by the user.
2. Lack of User Control Over Data
Users cannot delete unnecessary information.
Stored data remains visible on-screen longer than needed, cluttering the workspace.
Proposed Solutions:
Allow users to select and delete unwanted content after displaying word/character counts and requesting confirmation.
Link files to system timestamps, showing “creation time” and “last accessed time.”
3. Inability to Highlight Important Sentences
Users cannot mark critical parts of large datasets for quick reference.
Finding essential information takes too much time without a highlight function.
Proposed Solutions:
Introduce a Highlight Feature that allows users to color-code key information.
Add a “Highlight Mode” for viewing only marked content.
General Feedback & Conclusion
OpenAI is home to some of the world’s best engineers and developers.
However, many end-users prioritize a simple, intuitive interface. Some solutions seem to lack consideration for how everyday users interact with the system.
These improvements will significantly enhance the user experience, making the system more efficient and accessible.
I hope this feedback is taken into serious consideration.
Thank you!
