Where is"gpt-5-nano-20250807"

several weeks ago, I see model "gpt-5-nano-20250807“ with other openai models together on openai platform, but now I cant find it on the openai platform even though i still can call it by api.

I just want to know what happened and whether there is some change on it?

Looks like it’s right there - when you use the correct name returned by the models API endpoint.

Ok, thank you again;
so what is the difference between ‘gpt-5-nano-20250807’ and ‘gpt-5-nano’?

gpt-5-nano-20250807 never existed.

The name of the model is gpt-5-nano-2025-08-07

gpt-5-nano is a pointer to that full model name, an alias. Just in case they were to make a new versioned dated model of the same family that could be pointed at (instead of stealthfully changing existing models.) Less to remember, like mis-remembering the version format.

by the way, where and how do you search and find it? could you give me the url?

One way to get the correct name of the model you need is going to the corresponding model page and then looking up the name(s) in the snapshot section.

For example:
https://platform.openai.com/docs/models/gpt-5-nano

If you are using the platform site to “chat” and looking for a model to use, there is a search dialog there where you can type what you know about a model:
