When o1 wastes tokens, can I get them back?

Hi all!

Probably in the wrong forum on the wrong page but I couldn’t find a way to contact OpenAI help(tells me to login and ask my questions in the help thing but nowhere to sign in on the official help page. let me know if you know how).

My question is this: When I ask o1-preview to supply me with the full script we’re working on, half the time it just gives me a portion of the script and so it’s wasting tokens I assume cause then I have to ask it again(and then it gives me the full thing). Is there any way to get these wasted tokens back?

THere is a limit to the output for o1-preview, so you won’t get very long scripts all in one go.

You can try o1-mini, which has twice the output limit.

Didn’t know Mini had a bigger output limit. As a non coder Preview is much much better than mini so I guess it’s a trade off.

It’s also annoying since Preview has given me longer scripts before(in the last couple of days) and suddenly cuts it off.
